Hi, I saw this in the Critiqueables section and thought I'd offer a few words. Please bear in mind everything said here is just my opinion, and you can take from it what you wantever is useful to you. (:

What first caught my eye about this piece is the lovely vibrant colours. I really like the deep purple against the more neutral background. It works really well. I also like the way you've positioned the flower within the space, as it seems very balanced.

I have to say that photographs of flowers positioned in this way are quite common, however, I think that the overall tone of the piece - the vivid colours and the simplicity of it as a whole - makes it stand out.

One thing I would say is that the framing seems a little tight to me; I would have liked to have seen a little more space between the flowers and the edge of the photo.

In addition, the edges of the leaf seem a little blurred, but not enough for this to seem like a conscious decision. I really like that we can see the veins on the leaf as well as the detail on the flowers, and I think that the effect of the detail against the simplistic background could be furthered if the focus was better on the leaf.
